Recent testimony to the U.S. Congress by former Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt highlighted a milestone in European energy diversification: the first delivery of U.S. LNG to Ukraine through the emerging Vertical Corridor — executed by D.TRADING.
In his remarks, Pyatt pointed to the transaction as a practical demonstration of how new LNG routes can strengthen Europe’s energy security. The cargo, sourced by D.TRADING in the United States, was delivered to Greece’s Revithoussa LNG terminal, regasified, and transported northward into Ukraine’s underground gas storage system before serving regional markets.
This operation illustrates how LNG infrastructure in Southeast Europe can be integrated with Ukraine’s storage capacity to create a flexible cross-border supply chain. By linking global LNG supply with regional logistics and storage, the Vertical Corridor provides an alternative pathway that enhances diversification and system resilience.
Pyatt’s testimony underscored the broader strategic importance of such routes as Europe continues to reduce reliance on concentrated supply sources. The D.TRADING transaction serves as an early example of how commercial execution and infrastructure coordination can translate policy ambition into operational reality.
D.TRADING continues to develop LNG and cross-border trading capabilities designed to support secure, diversified energy flows across Europe, reinforcing the practical foundations of the evolving regional gas market.
