The potential is significant, but tariff reforms and structural improvements are needed to unlock it. In an interview with Greek outlet Mononews, Dmytro Sakharuk, CEO of D.TRADING, highlighted Greece’s growing role in strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience through LNG cooperation and technical support for its energy infrastructure.

D.TRADING has identified Greece as a southern gateway for expanding U.S. LNG flows to Ukraine and Southeastern Europe. The company was the first trader to transport gas from Greece to Ukraine using the discounted DESFA Route 1 product, marking a key milestone in regional diversification.

Greece is one of the few countries with available stocks of fully compatible equipment. This cooperation directly contributes to the stability of Ukraine’s energy system during wartime

Beyond LNG, D.TRADING is cooperating with Greek authorities and local partners to transfer compatible equipment - transformers, pumps, cables, and generator parts -to help restore Ukraine’s damaged grid and thermal generation assets
