D. TRADING Venture Global HoA named key energy deal for Eastern Europe by Financial Times

D.TRADING, the commodity trading subsidiary of DTEK Group, and U.S.-based Venture Global LNG have announced the signing of a comprehensive Heads of Agreement (HoA) for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The agreement was formalized on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, held in Berlin on 11–12 June 2024.

The Heads of Agreement outlines strategic cooperation between the two companies, with a focus on:

• Enhancing near-, medium-, and long-term energy security for Ukraine and the broader Eastern European region;

• Exploring joint opportunities to access regasification terminal capacity and pipeline infrastructure to enable an integrated and flexible LNG delivery route.

The agreement reinforces the growing role of U.S. LNG in European energy diversification and resilience, particularly in the face of evolving geopolitical and market challenges.

Venture Global also welcomed the agreement as a key step in supporting regional energy stability. A company spokesperson noted:

“Venture Global is proud to partner with D.TRADING, a subsidiary of DTEK, to deliver both short-term and long-term LNG from our Plaquemines and CP2 export facilities. President Biden has reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to increasing LNG supply into Europe, and we are pleased to continue contributing to this effort. This landmark agreement will help secure Ukraine’s natural gas supply, support post-war recovery and economic growth, and strengthen energy security across Europe.”

The collaboration with Venture Global forms part of D.TRADING’s broader strategy to build a diversified LNG portfolio and ensure stable energy flows to key markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
