D.TRADING participated in the FT Commodities Global Summit 2026 in Lausanne, Switzerland, joining global energy leaders to discuss the structural shifts reshaping commodity markets.
As a Silver Sponsor, the company contributed to key conversations on LNG, gas and power, with a clear message emerging across discussions: markets are no longer reacting to shocks, they are adapting to a new, more complex reality.
D.TRADING was represented by a senior delegation including:
Dmytro Sakharuk, CEO;
Daniel Hacki, Commercial Director Europe;
James O’Brien, Head of LNG;
Alexander Lukin, CFO;
Reidar Hansteen, Head of Gas Origination Desk Europe;
Antonina Antosha, Head of International Communications.
During the Summit, CEO Dmytro Sakharuk participated in a panel discussion focused on how demand destruction and supply disruptions are reshaping global energy flows.
The discussion highlighted that demand is already adjusting across regions, particularly in Asia, where gas is being partially replaced by coal and oil, impacting industrial output and global balances. Europe, for now, is benefiting from weaker Asian demand, but this equilibrium remains fragile.
A key theme was that today’s constraints are increasingly physical. Storage levels, regasification capacity and infrastructure access are becoming decisive in shaping flows and pricing. At the same time, regulatory developments, including methane-related rules, are starting to influence supply decisions.
Volatility, as emphasized during the panel, is no longer temporary, It is becoming a structural feature of the market.
These insights were echoed across the broader Summit discussions. LNG continues to sit at the center of global competition, while infrastructure, from terminals to cross-border corridors, is emerging as a strategic differentiator. Power markets are becoming more complex, with intraday volatility driven by renewables and weather patterns. In this environment, flexibility across assets, routes and portfolios is increasingly the defining competitive edge.
The Summit also provided an opportunity for the D.TRADING team to meet partners and clients, exchange perspectives and stay closely aligned with how markets are evolving in real time.
As global energy systems continue to shift, the role of trading is evolving with them, from moving volumes to integrating markets and enabling access across increasingly complex and interconnected energy landscapes.
